Under the M-GLS, to obtain a motorcycle learner permit, you must complete a compulsory 2 day learner permit course, which has been designed to focus on basic skills in motorcycle handling, such as cornering, braking and countersteering. We will also include higher-order riding skills such as rider awareness, judgment, decision making and defensive riding skills. Training involves off-road range exercises, as well as on-road riding to confirm that you have the necessary riding skills to control and manoeuvre a motorcycle safely in real traffic and on typical road conditions.
What You ‘ll Need To Bring
A valid form of identification, with photo and proof of residence.
You MUST wear appropriate clothing including a long sleeve top, long pants, and fully enclosed shoes (either boots or runners) in order to have full skin cover.
Wet weather gear should brought if the days forecast indicates rain.
Eligibility
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a Victorian resident.

Obtain a Victorian Rider Handbook and study before the course, which can be downloaded via the VicRoads website or on the link above.
Upon successful completion of the 2 day learner permit course, you will be issued a learner permit receipt, which is to be used as evidence of holding a valid Victorian motorcycle learner permit until VicRoads mail out a plastic learners permit card, which may take up to 5 weeks.
All training is conducted prior to any assessing, maximising the training benefits to aid in the successful completion of the learner permit course.
A Kawasaki Z250 motorcycle will be provided for all range and on-road riding.
We can make available the use of a helmet, gloves, protective jacket and hi-vis vest for the day.
Courses go ahead regardless of the weather.
